Long Time Coming ...

Well this blog is well overdue for an update. Exciting news! I'm currently in Cambodia doing an internship with CICFO, an NGO that provides a place for 34 children to live that is like a family. I'll be teaching English to children ranging from ages 5-18. Let me just say upfront when people say teaching English is hard, they speak the truth. :) But I'm facing the challenge head on. Here's to a successful 3 months! The country is hot but my body's adapting. The people are sweet. They love it when they find out I can speak Khmer. They're like "oh you know Khmer!" "Ha ha, I speak a little Khmer." After that they then say a whole ramble or words I don't understand. I hope by the end of this internship my Cambodian's improved at least marginally. I'm so grateful for the opportunity my Heavenly Father has given me to experience this country and to serve the people here.

I post mostly to Facebook just because it's faster and I take most my pictures with my phone but I'll try to post a few pictures here.

These are from my first full day in the country. 5/16

The Monday through Wednesday before I came was a holiday celebrating the kings birthday. His picture is everywhere!

Central Market - Good for shopping for clothes. I got a whole new wardrobe for $35!

Phsaar Orrussey - So colorful and fun!

In fabric heaven! I'll definitely be returning to pick up my share before I go home. :)

Riding my bike for the first time in Cambodian traffic. I didn't die! But I did have a very focused face. :)

All my love from Cambodia!
